Special Education Programme

4 - 6 Years Old

Special Education Programme (SEP) caters to children aged 4 to 6 years old. Students attend classes four times a week for three hours per session, with a focus on preparing them for Special Education classes in the typical Government schools.
The programme closely resembles a kindergarten setting, where students are encouraged to develop greater independence and follow simple instructions. They have the freedom to play, explore, and learn while refining their language and pre- academic skills.
Independence and social skills are key areas of emphasis in SEP. Our primary objective is to help the students achieve their maximum potential through the combined efforts of therapists and teachers. Students are guided in developing basic fundamental skills and are introduced to modified competitive sports such as football. The curriculum also includes sensory-rich and hands-on activities to enhance learning. Collaboration between parents and teachers plays a crucial role in the programme. Students are encouraged to engage in practical tasks, such as participating in Canteen Day, where they learn to be enterprising and develop fine motor skills. They also practice independence in activities such as coloring, matching, and reading.
Like typical kindergartens, the Centre celebrates milestones with an annual Sports Day and Graduation ceremony for the graduates of the Centre.
