A sensory room is only as effective as the people who bring it to life.
Following the completion of our sensory room at KDSF National Centre, our teachers and therapists recently participated in a comprehensive training session to learn how to maximise the benefits of the new sensory environment for every child.
The training covered:
• Appropriate use of each piece of sensory equipment
• Matching sensory activities to each child’s individual needs
• Safety procedures and best practices
• Piloting the Sensory Room Guidelines
• Piloting the Sensory Room Recording Form to monitor children’s responses and progress
This training marks an important milestone as we begin integrating sensory room sessions into our Early Intervention Programme. Through careful observation and documentation, our team will continue refining our practices to ensure each child receives meaningful and personalised sensory experiences.
We are excited to begin this journey and look forward to seeing how the sensory room supports our children’s development, emotional regulation, engagement, and learning.
