KDSF-National Centre World Down Syndrome Day 2025

This year, World Down Syndrome Day was joyfully celebrated at the Centre, with thoughtful consideration given to the fasting month and the fact that March 21 fell on a Friday. To mark the occasion, the teachers organized a Messy Play event themed “Animal Kingdom,” which saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 attendees, including students and their parents. The event provided a fun, meaningful, and inclusive platform for everyone involved.

We are grateful to Standard Chartered, where one of our parents is employed, for generously sponsoring RM2,428 to support the event. Additionally, 10 staff members from Standard Chartered volunteered their time to help run the messy play stations, contributing greatly to the event’s success. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Syimma, who successfully raised RM600 from two generous donors.

As part of the celebration, Rotary Club representative Mike Plasco kindly donated 100 children’s nursery rhyme books to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation.

Building on this new connection with Standard Chartered, we have submitted a proposal to become an official charity partner for their annual Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM). We are currently awaiting their response and remain hopeful for the opportunity to collaborate in the near future.
